February 2019 One Monthly Goal
My February 2019 OMG, was to finish step five, and start step six of the quilt pattern entitled Ring of Stars. I have enlarged the quilt pattern to fit a queen, instead of a twin, which requires more blocks. I finished, and actually went above my goal (by three blocks)! Another plus side, it is not the last day of the month!
Step five was to make 4 patches into more 4 patches. Completed before the middle of the month.
The first part of step six was to make some sashing, which went off without a hitch.
The second part of step six was to put together the blocks. My goal was to only put together one full block, but instead of just one, I got four done, and a fifth close to done, but the last seam still needs to be sewn.
It feels great to have my OMG done, and I'm not scrambling to post on the last night of the month! Now it is time to pick my March OMG.

Design Wall Tuesday
This last week was productive. Granted not what I totally planned, but sometimes a little clean up and organization is good for the soul. I finished sewing the sashing pieces together, and then ironed them to start creating blocks for the quilt I am working on.
I also was fed up with some scraps that had been sitting at my cutting table and decided it was time to start cutting them down. So I did. I made tumblers, 1.5", 2", and 2.5" squares, and 2.5" by 6" strips for a braided border. My table is cleaned, and I have my eye on the next stack of scraps I want to work on (I just have to unpack them).
My goals for this week are:
1. Finish my February OMG, which is almost done. I started to sew a block together, and I just need to finish it to complete my goal. However my goal for this week is to put together at least 4 blocks.
2. Get 3/4's of the way done with knitting the baby blanket for a co-worker. The rows are getting shorter and I'm noticing how quicker each one is going. I am close to 3/4's just not there yet, hopefully this week.
3. Finish cutting my fabric pieces for the Daisy Chain Mystery Quilt Along and be ready for the first clue, which will be released next week. I hope you are joining us.
4. Continue to unpack and organize my house. This past week we had our first set of real guests, and it was nice to host people, but it is back to unpacking and organizing. It is taking a lot longer than expected, but I'm confident that we are putting things in the right spots so we do not have to worry about them moving forward.
5. I am 90% sure I will be doing the San Diego County shop hop with my Mom this weekend. I do not plan to buy anything except for the block kits. I know how I want to finish it and I have all of the fabrics already. Fingers crossed I stick to this plan as I do not need ANYTHING! Plus I need to save to repair our main sewer line, which needs to be repaired by the summer. The theme this year is Notions.

15 Minutes of Stitching - Week 8 2019
Let us see how this week went on the stitching front.
Days spent stitching this week: 6 out of 7
Days spent stitching in February: 22 out of 24
Days spent stitching in 2019: 52 out of 55
Success Rate: 94.5%
My week runs from Monday to Sunday.
This last week went pretty well, granted I missed one day. It was Saturday and I hung out with friends until the wee hours of the morning. At least it was for me, so when they left I went straight to bed. It is amazing to see the progress that I am making on projects this year. I think it also helps I have a designated space now. No true finishes yet, but I am getting close to a few. Hopefully in the next quarter I will have some finishes!
My fabric usage will be the last big number for a little while, as I will be putting together some blocks over the next week. That is okay though as I'm putting together a quilt top, and it has been a long time coming! I can not wait.
Fabric out this week: 1.56 yards
Fabric out, in 2019: 10.96 yards
Fabric in this week: 0 yards
Fabric in, in 2019: 5 yards
Fabric difference in 2019: loss of 5.96 yards
I hope everyone had a great week!

Daisy Chain Mystery QAL Fabric Cutting
It is here! Time to start cutting our fabrics for the Daisy Chain Mystery QAL. The cutting directions can be found at Little Bunny Quilts. Alison has done a fantastic job at laying out exactly what you need for each quilt size (in a wonderful table), and each cut type is labeled with a letter for organization.
Here are my fabrics cut. I have these awesome little letters from Cora's Quilts, but you can also find them at Fat Quarter Shop or other places. I use them to help me stay organized, so I do not have to keep remeasuring to figure out which size each one is. I'm excited to see how our cut pieces come together.
It is never too late to join the Daisy Chain Mystery QAL, hop on over to Little Bunny Quilts, and under the Daisy Chain Mystery QAL tab Alison has everything laid out for any visitor.
Piecing of Unit Block A starts in two weeks. Will you be ready?

Design Wall Monday
Yes! I made it on a Monday! Small victories, even though I missed last week's. What have I been working on these last two weeks? Well there has been a decent chunk I believe. I have used almost 5 yards of fabric in the last two weeks, which I think is amazing! I have finished the border on this quilt. Next step is quilting, but that won't be until April I believe.
I was able to complete the 6th and final panel on this quilt, but I do not have a picture of it yet. Next is a black border and then the braided border. I have to see if I have any black fabric starched. I thought I did, but it is going to be a hunt.
I also finished my Breakfast Club homework!!! Early too. I worked on step 5, putting the 4 patches into more 4 patches. They turned out well. I am halfway done with my February OMG, which feels awesome!
My goals for this week are:
1. Continue working on my February OMG, which step 5 is completed, now to start step 6. I want to get the sashing completed this week, and start laying out the blocks that will be put together. I can not wait to see these come together!
2. Get 3/4's of the way done with knitting the baby blanket for a co-worker. She is delivering tomorrow, so I missed giving it to her before baby came, but when she comes to visit in about a month, I hope I can have it done and ready for her by then.
3. Finish starching fabric for the Daisy Chain Mystery Quilt Along (it has not been drying very well as it is so cold here). Finish cutting and be ready for the first clue. I hope you are joining us. I will be posting my cut fabric tomorrow, so come back to see it.
4. Continue to unpack and prep my house. We have our first official guests over, that are not family, but like family coming this weekend! I would love to organize and put away some of my sewing area, but we will see what happens, as it is a busy week, and I just hurt myself today. It is going to be an interesting week indeed.

15 Minutes of Stitching - Week 6 and 7 2019
Let us see how this week went on the stitching front.
Days spent stitching this week: 14 out of 14
Days spent stitching in February: 16 out of 17
Days spent stitching in 2019: 46 out of 48
Success Rate: 95.8%
My week runs from Monday to Sunday.
I ran out of time to post last weeks numbers, so I just rolled it into this week. I have been finding time to stitch every day and it is showing. I am trying to be more organized, and know what I plan to work on. I normally work for about 30 minutes or more if I have the time. I hope a few things get done this year, and I'm excited to see things progressing.
My fabric usage is going very well! In the upcoming weeks, fabric usage will slow down as I will be putting together blocks, but that is okay. Progress is being made on my projects and I could not be happier.
Fabric out this week: 4.17 yards
Fabric out, in 2019: 9.40 yards
Fabric in this week: 0 yards
Fabric in, in 2019: 5 yards
Fabric difference in 2019: loss of 4.4 yards

February 2019 One Monthly Goal
For this month, my goal is to make progress on a wedding quilt. I want to finish step 5, which is make a bigger 4 patch out of small four patches and squares, and start step 6, which is sewing sashing together, and start on block construction.
This might be too much for me to get done, but even if I start making 1 of the 12 blocks by the end of the month, I will feel accomplished! Good luck to everyone on their goals, I hope February continues to be a productive month!

Design Wall Tuesday
This last week I was able to finish panel #5, and I did start panel #6, but that will be finished at a later date.
I am loving how this is coming together.
I was able to pick out my fabrics for the Daisy Chain Mystery QAL, and you can find the blog post about it here. I can not wait to see how this comes together.
I picked out my February OMG, which I will be posting about later tonight.
I did pretty well with my goals considering how sick I was last week. (Sinus infection after a cold)
My goals for this week are:
1. Start on my February OMG, which is to make progress on a wedding quilt. I hope to get the four patches sewn to squares this week. Maybe, even start sewing the four patches into bigger four patches after ironing.
2. Get 3/4's of the way done with knitting the baby blanket for a co-worker. I made some progress last week by getting to the halfway mark. Now it is just the downhill slope.
3. Starch fabric for the Daisy Chain Mystery Quilt Along. Cutting will be here before I know it, and I want to be prepared.
4. Organize my sewing area, I need to sanitize the drawers for the units I will be using, and start putting tools into them, plus using the storage ideas I have bought already. I will also be able to set up the closet with my plastic tubs of fabric, so that will nice to start getting organized. Maybe even move in a bookcase I plan to use. We will see what I have time for!

Daisy Chain Mystery QAL Fabric Choices
If you have not heard about the Daisy Chain Mystery Quilt Along, it is okay, you are hearing about it now! It is a free mystery quilt along hosted by Honey, Bunny and Doll Quilts over at Little Bunny Quilts. Every two weeks for the next few months we will get a clue on how a new pattern will go together. Just hop on over, and you can pick your fabrics based on the four different sizes that will be presented!
I am sharing my fabric choices. I am aiming to make the queen, but realistically I will be able to create the throw during the quilt along.
My fabric choices are above. The red and yellow floral print is my focal fabric. My accent are the blues on the right as they accent my focal fabric pretty well. The backgrounds I'm using are the cream/white scrappy fabrics. The assorted scraps I have chosen are the purple, grey and brown fabrics. I'm excited to see how this turns out. I hope you will join us and follow along.

15 Minutes of Stitching - Week 5 2019
Let us see how this week went on the stitching front.
Days spent stitching this week: 6 out of 7
Day spent stitching in January: 30 out of 31
Days spent stitching in February: 2 out of 3
Days spent stitching in 2019: 32 out of 34
Success Rate: 94.2%
My week runs from Monday to Sunday.
I found time to stitch as it was my get away this past week while being sick. However being sick and loosing my mojo caught up to me on Saturday. I have changed projects and have found my mojo a little, but my hope is to find more of my mojo this next weekend. To do this I want to work on my sewing area (after more of the house comes together) to get a little organized and unpack some of my quilting boxes, so hopefully I will have a little more normalcy/what I want at my finger tips again. I think not having this, this last week really brought me down.
My fabric usage is still consistent, which is nice. In the next few weeks I want to start experimenting with the fabric I have bought so that will be used soon too! (I'm just excited I have not bought any fabric just because or for a new project that was not on the docket this year!)
Fabric out this week:1.11 yards
Fabric out, in 2019: 5.23 yards
Fabric in this week: 0 yards
Fabric in, in 2019: 5 yards
Fabric difference in 2019: loss of .23 yards
I hope everyone had a great week!
