OMG Finished Under the Wire

I finished my May One Monthly Goal for the month!  My goal was to iron the starched fabric and cut out the whole quilt for an upcoming family wedding.  I was able to complete it tonight!  The results are on the side.  Everything is labeled too!

Now I need to start sewing it all together.  I will not complete it in time for the wedding, but I hope to have it completed by the end of the summer.

Linking up with Elm Street Quilts.  Now to think of what my June OMG will be.

Design Table

Last week I was able to accomplish my Sweet Tooth blocks that I needed to get done for Breakfast Club at my LQS.  Sorry I do not have pictures of them, but I did finish them in time (about an hour before I left).

This week I am working on a few different things.

1. Finish ironing and cutting out this wedding quilt.  This is part of my One Monthly Goal hosted at Elm Street Quilts.

2. Start making progress on the mending pile that has grown over the last two years (maybe three years...).

3. And last but not least as I will be away from my machine this weekend, my plan is to organize what I have done and figure out what I need to do on my Sweet Tooth quilt by Jaybird Quilts.  Once I complete this small feat, I will then start to cut out the necessary pieces to get it all done.  This will take more than just this long weekend for those of us in the United States, due to Memorial Day (thank you to everyone who has sacrificed their life for our country), but I can get the ball rolling and make progress.

Fat Quarter Shop Purchase and Progress

A few months ago, when I actually finished my One Monthly Goal hosted by Elm Street Quilts, I was a lucky winner of a gift certificate from Fat Quarter Shop.  I wanted to share my lovely haul that the gift certificate went towards helping me purchase.

As you can tell I got a lot of fun stuff.  The Halloween prints are for my Mom's Birthday present, which is quickly approaching.  The rest is for me, and I can not wait to get some commitments off my plate to make the Lollies quilt.  Of course I want to make it bigger, so I'm currently searching for the fabric.  Thank you to Fat Quarters Shop for helping me indulge in my favorite hobby!

Now, for the progress I have made on the Sweet Tooth blocks.  Tonight I finished block 7, and started block 8!  My points are getting better with each block I do, and I have figured out a few tricks to help with my accuracy.  I will definitely get the four blocks I plan to get done before Saturday.  Happy day!

Today I am linking up with Sew Fresh Quilts for her Bee Social link-up party.  I hope to see you over there.

Design Table

There are several things I want to progress on this week.

1. I need to finish cutting out Block 8, and sew both Block 7 and Block 8 of Sweet Tooth before Saturday morning when I have Breakfast Club at my LQS.  Tonight, I plan to finish cutting out Block 8.

2. I started to cut out a wedding quilt, I still have to iron and cut the rest of the fabric, and then I can start to sew it all together.  My goal for the week is to iron the rest of the fabric, and if I have extra time cut out all the pieces.

3. The last project I want to try and start working on, now that I have it all cut out, is the Gathering mystery over at Cora's Quilts.  I would love to start on Clue 1, and maybe even get further than that, but we will see.

This weekend is busy with Spring Ring at my church.  I play handbells, and I teach kids how to play chimes and this weekend is our big concert for the year, plus my kids play in church Sunday morning.  As a result, my sewing time is limited.

Time to pick up the rotary cutter and finish cutting out Block 8.  Linking up with Love, Laugh and Quilt.

Table Runner is Finished!

I had a hard and fast deadline of getting this beautiful pattern for a table runner done.  Did I make it?  Yes, I did!

This is how it turned out.

It was hard to give away as it is so pretty and my husband loves it, but it has gone to a loving home to a soon to be married couple.

Here are a few more pictures.  I love the backing on it.

And the quilting, which I took inspiration from the original made by Cora's Quilts.

I love how it turned out!  This is a finish from my Quarter 2 goals #22.  Now it is time to work on their wedding quilt.  Linking up with Crazy Mom Quilts for Finish-It-Up Friday and Confessions of a Fabric Addict for Whoop Whoop Fridays.

May OMG

I'm squeaking in my post this month about my May OMG.  I finished my April OMG, just not by the deadline.  I will share the end result on Friday.  I almost did not give it away because both my husband and I loved it!

The May OMG that I am setting is to iron fabric , cut and start to sew the blocks together for a wedding quilt...in June.  In my perfect world, I would love to get the quilt top totally put together so the first weekend of June I can quilt it, and then bind it the week before the wedding (June 11).  If I accomplish this all, it will be the first wedding quilt I have finished on time!  I am always up for the challenge!

In between the quilt top sewing, I will be finishing the Sweet Tooth blocks 7 and 8 for Breakfast Club that will be the third Saturday of the month, and maybe even starting on blocks 9 and 10.

Here is to a busy, but fun filled month of sewing!  Linking up and sharing at Elm Street Quilts and the One Monthly Goal link-up.

Rug Finished!

Late last week I was able to finish repairing the rug I was asked to fix.
It started like this

And ended up like this

I am proud of the end product, yes it is not perfect as this was my first rug fix, however if you look at a distance it does not appear to be a bad fix.  The dog that chewed through it and created the mess in the first place, actually ate some of the strips so I had to be creative to make it look halfway decent.  It has a two strip braid around the curve because I did not have enough strips.

The rug is happily back with its owner as of last weekend as we were in the same area.  We were in the same area because I was working on this

After 10 batches of jam making on Saturday, and giving some to various people this is what I ended up with.  There are 6 different types, and they are all delicious (I'm sure that is the sugar talking).  It was exhausting but so worth it!

I can not wait to see what everyone else has finished at Finish It Up Friday with Crazy Mom Quilts, and Whoop Whoop Fridays with Confessions of a Fabric Addict.

Argyle Table Runner Progress

This week's goal is to get this table runner done because it is for a gift at a bridal shower I am attending on Sunday.
Monday night I ironed the fabrics and cut them.

Then I started strip piecing

And Tuesday I ended getting most of the blocks half put together.

Wednesday night I will get all of the blocks made, and hopefully laid out, so Thursday I can sew it all together.  My goal is to have everything done by Saturday, so I can take final pictures and put the present all together.  This way I'm not rushing Sunday morning.  Good thing I got all of my cleaning done this past weekend for me to be focused on this.  Once this is done, I have to consider what I'm going to set as my May OMG.  I really, really want to make progress on my goal this month.
