Daisy Chain Mystery QAL Final Reveal

Have you seen the final quilt layout?!?!  Isn't it wonderful!  I love it, and I love how my blocks are coming together.  Block B was so quick to put together, I was able to get two and a half done in the short time I allotted myself.

I also had to see how Block A would look like with Block B, and I love it even more.

To finish in time for the link up in a few weeks, I am going to use this as my leader and ender as I have a deadline quilt to finish.

If you love the look of this, check out Little Bunny Quilts, as the directions for the quilt are still up.  Check it out.

Design Wall Tuesday

These past two weeks, I was able to finish almost all of the blocks for the signature quilt!  Just 2 to go!  There are only 24 left to get signatures for, and a few members I am going to call.  So the kids will get to color about 15 of them this coming weekend.

I am focusing in on two projects this week.  The first one is to finish all blocks, and lay them out to start sewing them together.  I also plan to start working on the backing.  I need to finish drawing out my plan, calculate the number of each block I need, start to cut out the pieces, and start to make the blocks.  No pressure to get it all done...

My second project is the mystery Daisy Chain QAL, which has now been revealed.  Between sewing the top and back together for goal one, I want to be constructing blocks as I can not wait to get the top put together.  I love the design!

My third goal, which will continue to be a goal until it is completely done, is to work on unpacking our house.  Our goal for the week is to build 3-4 shelves for the garage, work on cleaning up the sunroom, and set up the awesome patio furniture we found.  That will be a treat to enjoy the fresh air in our backyard at the end of a progress filled weekend.

I hope everyone has a great week!

15 Minutes of Stitching - Week 20 of 2019

Let us see how this week went on the stitching front.

Days spent stitching this week: 7 out of 7
Days spent stitching in May: 18 out of 18
Days spent stitching in 2019: 136 out of 139
Success Rate: 97.8%
My week runs from Monday to Sunday.

Finding time is going well, sometimes it is thanks to my husband as he encourages me to go to my corner, even on the few nights that I have laid down and just want to sleep.  I am pretty lucky.  He knows how much I love doing my hobby.  He also loves seeing the progress I make.  This next week I will have a full sew day and I am excited to have that time.

No new fabric came home with me, even though boy oh boy was I tempted on several occasions, but I stayed strong.  Fabric going out was a decent amount, decreasing the gain of fabric for the year, which feels good.  I hope to stay strong over the next week regarding fabric purchases, and keep using fabric within my stash.

Fabric out this week: 1.76 yards
Fabric out, in 2019: 24.57 yards
Fabric in this week: 0 yards
Fabric in, in 2019: 112.69 yards
Fabric difference in 2019: gain of 88.12 yards

I hope everyone had a great week!

15 Minutes of Stitching - Week 19 2019

Let us see how this week went on the stitching front.

Days spent stitching this week: 7 out of 7
Days spent stitching in May: 12 out of 12
Days spent stitching in 2019: 129 out of 132
Success Rate: 97.7%
My week runs from Monday to Sunday.

Finding stitching went well, next year I will not be this lucky, but I am enjoying it now.  I am still working with a quickly approaching deadline, so I am continuing my pedal to the metal motto.  I have one day chosen for a sew day, I hope to find another one or two with just a morning or afternoon free, but May is flying by!

I did not buy any fabric this week, so I feel like that is an accomplishment.  I did not give into temptation!  I made a sizable dent in my stash also, and it feels good to make some progress, especially squeaking under 90 yards gained!  Maybe next week, my fabric out will increase to 25 yards out?

Fabric out this week: 2.79 yards
Fabric out, in 2019: 22.81 yards
Fabric in this week: 0 yards
Fabric in, in 2019: 112.69 yards
Fabric difference in 2019: gain of 89.88 yards

I hope everyone had a great week!

15 Minutes of Stitching - Week 18 2019

Let us see how this week went on the stitching front.

Days spent stitching this week: 7 out of 7
Days spent stitching in April: 30 out of 30
Days spent stitching in May: 5 out of 5
Days spent stitching in 2019: 122 out of 125
Success Rate: 97.6%
My week runs from Monday to Sunday.

Finding stitching went well, I'm working in overdrive as I have a deadline that is quickly approaching.  Pedal to the metal is my motto right now.  I just need to find a full day or two to sew soon.

I bought some fabric.  A large chunk of it was a kit, but so worth it, as I love the fabrics.  The other was for the border and binding on a quilt top I am working on right now, as I did not have a large enough piece for both of those items.  My fabric out increased as I feel like I did more sewing and ironing this week than just prep work.  Once this quilt is done and I iron a lot of what I have been sewing in the wings, I will have a huge influx of fabric out!  My goal at the end of the year is to break even.  Will I make it?

Fabric out this week: 1.15 yards
Fabric out, in 2019: 20.02 yards
Fabric in this week: 10.5 yards
Fabric in, in 2019: 112.69 yards
Fabric difference in 2019: 92.67 gain of  yards

I hope everyone had a great week!

Design Wall Tuesday

I'm happy I'm joining the party on Tuesday.  I'm happy to be productive tonight, and I'm happy that life keeps going.  This past week, I was able to finish another 36 blocks for the signature quilt!  Just a little under 100 to go!  One at a time will be made.

I also made some progress on my Daisy Chain Mystery by ironing and trimming some blocks, but not enough to warrant a new picture.

I am focusing in on two projects again for the week.  My first one is to completed 40 additional blocks, making them ready for signatures Sunday morning.  I want to finish drawing out and doing calculations for the back side of the quilt, and iron more fabrics that are starched and ready to be worked with.

My second goal is to finish ironing and trimming Unit C for the Daisy Chain Mystery QAL, and work on the new step that was just released yesterday!  We are putting together blocks, and the unveiling is getting closer!

My third goal, which will continue to be a goal until it is completely done, is to work on unpacking our house.  Our goal for the week is to finish the kitchen (almost there), build a shelving unit for our entertainment stuff, and continue to work on the garage, building two shelving units, plus filling them with stuff.  I hope to also work on our front yard as it is a mess thanks to the main sewer line being replaced last week.  It is so wonderful to have working plumbing again!

I hope everyone has a great week!

May 2019 One Monthly Goal

A new month, another goal.  This month's goal is to make all of the blocks for a quilt top, which equals to over 160, and then put them all into rows, 15 to be exact.  In addition, I want to start making the back of this said quilt, which means I need to start making the stitch and flip corners for some squares.

This is a lot, but I have a hard and true deadline quickly approaching.  I have 33 days to get a quilt top and quilt back (a pieced one) ready for a retirement gift.  Lots to do, but with a lot of determination and grit I will get my goal met, even if it is at the last minute.
